Quote for Though #2

"It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart."- Finnick Odair from Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Doesn't this quote just scream 'Fandom problem'? We've all been through tough times in this crazy fandom life, including the time spent waiting for the next book, the constant struggle to contain your comments you just want to scream at the characters, and yes, the death of that one character you cherish in your heart the most. It's tough going at it alone, so grab a friend or two and your road to recovery will be ten times more tolerable.

Are the Star Wars prequels so bad?

Now, before all you die hard prequel haters beat the crap out of me, hear me out for a second. This might sound completely biased, but Phantom Menance was the first Star Wars film I ever saw, and is what got me into the franchise. Although there are a few plot holes, I'll admit, they are some pretty good backstory. I applaud how these films went into Anakins psychie and what transformed him into Vadar. I also liked how in depth the relationship of not only Anakin and Padmé (btw first OTP right here) but the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan (also btw, first Brotp).

But anyway, these films offered, at least in my humble fangirl opinion, something considerable to arguably one of the best and most profitable fandoms. And honestly, gives me hope for the next trilogy. Maybe they will go into Luke's mind about the revelation of his father in Return of the Jedi. I don't know.

And if you disagreed with any of this, why you take the time out of your precious internet trolling time and write your own opinion on a blog.

Captain America returns

(Caution: May contain spoilers)

Well, as warm weather comes and July 4th gets closer, we get a landslide of Marvel movies. Recently, the newest Marvel movie, 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' was released. I saw it this past Saturday. My expectations were pretty high based on how good the last Captain America movie was. And boy was I surprised and my expectations were smashed.

At the start, we see Steve running around D.C, where he runs into the man who will soon become Falcon. Anywho, Steve works for Shield, but feels something missing. Mostly because it's been 70 years.  After a mission that went bad, Steve is sent on the run. Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Widow) helps Steve to try to clear his name. Whenever they come close to the truth, they encounter the winter solider (if you wanna know his real identity, see the movie. I'm not gonna spoil everything.). It also turns out that not everyone in shield is who they say they are (*cough* Robert Redford and villains from last Captain America *cough*).

Well that's it for the review. I don't want to spoil the ending for those of you who didn't see it.

Quotes for Thought #1

I decided to start a new series of postings where I give a quote from any movies, TV shows, songs, or anything entertainment wise that I believe can be found as a source of inspiration or just something to make you smile. This first quote is from one of my favorite songs of all time, "Your Heart Will Lead You Home" by Kenny Loggins:

"Funny how a photograph can take you back in time to places and
to graces that you'd thought you'd left behind."

Every time I hear this lyric, it really stands out to me because it's totally true. Really, it's weird. I challenge you to find an old photo of yourself from your early years and really try to remember that day the photo was taken, or around that time in your life. You can be surprised on how much a simple photo from long ago can bring just a little bit more joy in your day.

Beauty in the quiet things

Beauty I believe does not lie solely with the day but also with the twilight. The time changes when the night things stir. Watching as we lie our heads down to rest. They stand by our windows as we tell stories of long ago and faraway places. We watch as the night things sway from left to right. They let us own them, but just for show.

Deduce what this post is about. Post your answers in the comments section.
