Liberation PoV Character #2: Kyrean

Hey y'all! Cas here! You guys ready to meet my second PoV character? Meet Kyrean Dey:

Kyrean, also drawn by Maddy Pisio

Kyrean is a Daemonborne, as seen by the dark shade of his wings. You'll see early on his connection to Dom. Kyrean has already gone through his Metamorphosis quite a bit before the story begins, and has recieved his Grace. Kyrean is a Harbinger, which means his job is to take the damned to Hell. Because of this, he resides on Earth instead of Hell. He's still only 17, so he goes to school and all that. His human parents don't know about his true nature, due to some reasons I won't share yet. Kyrean, of all people, goes to a private Catholic school, as you can see in his lovely prep school uniform. There, he tends to be the class clown, while still managing to get straight A's.
Kyrean takes it upon himself to both guide Dom through his Metamorphosis and protect him from those that would hurt him. He's quite the interesting character, with a lot of quirks. I guess he fulfills the "Funny Best Friend" trope. Anyways, I'm sure you'll all love him from the start.

I may update later with a teaser scene. Check back! And please tell me what you think of my characters!

Liberation PoV Character #1: Dom

Hey everyone! I'm back, bringing you the first PoV character in my novel! Meet Dominic "Dom" Miles:

Dom, as drawn by my friend Maddy Pisio

Dom is Angelborne. He's the first PoV character you'll meet.

Now, before I talk more about Dom himself, there's something you should know about Angelbornes and Daemonbornes. Both Heaven and Hell have taken countermeasures to avoid being like the third force I mentioned earlier. For the first 16 years of one's life, he or she is completely human. They are born to human parents (however they do have supernatural parents as well), raised as humans, and believe that they are humans. Their bodies are completely human as well. For all intents and purposes, they are human.

Now, the 16th birthday is key. On the 16th birthday, the first change takes place. This change is simple, minuscule, and yet at the same time extremely important.

After this first change, a few weeks of rapid transformation occur, called Metamorphosis. Metamorphosis has many stages:
-Physical (obvious, the bodies begin changing)
-Mental (the strength of the brain increases rapidly)
-Spiritual

The Spiritual stage is the last and final stage. It's also, in some ways, the most important. Spiritual Metamorphosis is simultaneously exactly as it sounds, and also a bit more than that. Firstly, during Spiritual Metamorphosis, the soul is changed into the soul of an Angelborne or a Daemonborne, depending on which nature the true mother had. However, they also receive their Graces. Think of the Grace as being similar to a class in a video game. It simultaneously gives them specific skill sets and a specific role they must play in Heaven or Hell.

Dom's Metamorphosis takes place throughout the book, which provides a nice internal struggle: dealing with the rapid change in his body. Think of it like puberty on steroids.

Anyways, at the beginning, Dom is human, and he's definitely not angelic. In fact, if it wasn't for his heavenly parents, he'd probably be going to Hell when he dies. You see, Dom is a stereotypical overly-popular, partying, bullying jock. To sum it up, he's a jerk. He even has some pretty serious skeletons in the closet, but you'll have to read the book to find those out (I know, I'm terrible).

Early on, Dom gets forced into this world, and plot-ish stuff ensues.

Come back later tomorrow to meet the second PoV character!

Liberation

Greetings! It's- once again- Cas!
I'm here to share something with you, I'm not sure if I ever talked about it before. For those of you who don't know, I'm an author. I'm currently unpublished, but I've been trying to get my first finished novel published. Anyways, I talked to a friend, and she said I should try rewriting it, doing the whole thing from scratch, with possibly a new plot and other stuff, but keeping the original idea and spark.
Anyways, it was originally titled In the Inferno, but my "reboots" working title is Liberation.
Liberation draws its inspiration from Judeo-Christian mythology in that Heaven and Hell are main forces in the book, but the similarities just about end there. In fact, some of the ideas in my book are probably downright blasphemic.
For example, Heaven and Hell aren't warring forces. In fact, they're not only allies, but extremely friendly towards each other. Hell loves humanity. Like Heaven, Hell wants humans to be good little children. Heaven and Hell just have different ways of achieving these ends.
Think of it like the stereotypical parents. When you were a child and you misbehaved, was there a specific parent you feared more? For me, it was my dad. My mom and my dad had very different ways of inspiring good behavior. My mom tended to reward me for being good. My dad, on the other hand, threatened me with punishments for bad behavior.
That's the perfect metaphor for Heaven and Hell in my book. Hell punishes us for being bad, but that's because they want us to be good.
Right now, as I'm typing this, I'm thinking, "Wow, my readers must think I'm a complete cliche-hog. 'Stereotypical villain isn't villain.' What, you think this is Wicked?"
Well, that's not the entire thing. In fact, if it was, there wouldn't be a story, because there would be no conflict.
Well, let's imagine Heaven and Hell aren't the only forces in play here. What else could there be?
Let's imagine an anti-thesis to Heaven and Hell. Take this quote by Elie Wiesel, author of Night:

"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of beauty is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference."

In this sense, even the traditional Hell isn't the opposite of Heaven. But that's even more true for my portrayal of Hell. So, according to this quote, the opposite of dual forces of love must be dual forces of indifference.
That's where this get interesting. My anti-thesis doesn't hate humanity. It doesn't actively want humanity dead. It just doesn't care whether humans live or die. This makes them all the more dangerous, because even hate is easy to understand. These forces walk among us, and they hold no regard for us. Hatred is caused by a reason. This indifference will allow them to torture and kill us for little to no reason.

So what are these forces?

Well, I'm not going to give their name yet. That will be found in the book. I know, crazy, right? I won't reveal such a tiny detail! Well, actually, the stuff I just said, that's still literally only 10% of the content in the book.

However, I will give you guys a sneak peek at my two PoV characters tomorrow! Be ready!

If you're interested in all of this, comment, please!

Reach for the Stars- A Whole New Horizon! (Suggestion Post)

Hey hey hey!

Cas here. I just wanted to make a quick announcement. The Knights were talking together today, and we decided we were going to try and improve our blog! We came up with a couple ideas, but nothing is set in stone. A couple of our ideas were:

-Each blogger should have a specific niche that they specialize in posting
-A schedule for posting so the posts are regularly- and well-spaced
-Expanding the types of content (fan-videos, reviews, etc.)

So we're really looking forward to implementing these changes, but we want you, our fans, input on this. What kind of content would you like to see posted? Do you have any ideas on how we could better our blog? Please, please, PLEASE comment your ideas here. We really appreciate our fans' input. The Knights are planning on holding a meeting to talk about all these changes and come up with a plan. I will update you after the meeting with this plan! Again, any suggestions are welcome!

Norribeth song

Last week, for a class, I had to write an original song. We could base the song on anything you wanted, and I based mine on the Norribeth ship from Pirates of the Caribbean.  For those of you who don't know, Norribeth is about the closest thing to a canon ship that James Norrington gets. It's between him and Elizabeth Swann.

So, after 5 days and countless Mumford and Sons songs, here it is, the song I have titled "My Sacrifice":

At our start
I heard your siren call
So I gave you my heart
But you had to fall
And there is a lesson to be taught
After all

Cause I have many sacrifices to my name
For which you are to blame
No need to apologize
I already came to terms with my sacrifice

The wind drove us separate ways
For the causes we must fight
You kept foes at bay
I tried to see the light

Cause I have many sacrifices to my name
For which you are to blame
No need to apologize
I already came to terms with my sacrifice

But let's face the facts
This story was never meant to last
My final sacrifice
Was used to save your life
So keep me in your memories
And tell of me in your stories

Cause I have many sacrifices to my name
For which you are to blame
No need to apologize
I already came to terms with my sacrifice

Murder in text

A few months ago I decided to write a short fan fiction blog post...thing, anyway here it is:

I meet an interesting women today named Tris Holmes. She is a “consulting detective”. Which means that the police go to her when they are having trouble. Currently we are working on “a case” together, a  murder. Tris worked out that the victim was a bit of criminal himself and that he had gotten into a bit of trouble and that his options were: a) get brutally murdered by his associates, b) go to jail, or c)get his own shooter. As this is a murder cases the victim went with option a. She also worked out that the murder would have a bank account in downtown. This lead to one quick adventure to a bank at 103 Borough Road and a talk with the bank manager.
The murder is one Jim Brook. After I had relayed this information to Tris I went to a fast food joint around the corner bought two burgers. I then head home. When I got there I found a man with a large 1960's era police phone booth claiming to be the Doctor. I promptly told Tris that he had a message for her and that her food was on the counter.
It has been a few days since the Doctor showed up and Tris has spent most of that time in her “mind palace”. It is getting very boring around here with nothing happening, awww well. I guess she will enlighten me later on what she has figured out.

As this is my first attempt at something like this in text please comment.

Fandom Run of Y: Rumble Badge

Hey guys! I beat the Rumble Badge, and my team is starting to look more filled out. Here's my new and improved team:

Gallifrey, my Celebi, seen before.

Neville, my magical Delphox. It almost looks like he's wearing Yule Ball robes!

Lannister, my dual-edged Doublade.

Ariel, my water-dwelling Vaporeon. Look at that beautiful mermaid tail!

Castiel, my ancient Golett. I thought since they're both semi-emotionless ancient beings, the named worked. Plus, the spiral on his chest reminded me of when Cas painted the angel-banishing sygil on his chest.

Smaug and Mega Smaug, my Charizard and Mega Charizard, respectively. For those not in the know, some Pokemon can Mega Evolve in battle to become more powerful temporarily.

What do you guys think? I think it's pretty well put together. I might transfer a Pokemon over from my old games, so look forward to that!

New Pixar Sequels On Their Way!

If you thought you were excited for the release of Finding Dory in 2016, break out your super suits and start your engines because it was recently announced that Pixar is working on a sequel for "The Incredibles", their action packed, crime fighting, "Where's my super suit" hit released in 2004 . It was also announced that the third Cars movie is also in the making following up the release of Cars 2 in 2011. Both movies are estimated to hit the big screen between 2018 and 2020, so we've got a long way to go. But don't worry, we can pass the time with new Pixar titles like "Inside Out" coming next summer, "The Good Dinosaur" in 2015, and of course "Finding Dory". Still can't wait that long? A certain Disney movie starring the world's most famous frog, the world's sassiest pig, and probably the world's best group of cameos (aka Muppets Most Wanted) is coming out this Friday. Get ready to start popping the popcorn because it's showtime!

Fantastic News- Fandom Run of Pokemon Y is Back!

My dad finally fixed my 3DS, so the Fandom Run of Pokemon Y is back! I just beat the second gym, so here's my team so far:

Lannister, my Honedge. Since Lannisters are knights and such.

Gallifrey, my Time Lord Celebi. Since Celebis travel through time and such,

Neville, my wizardly Braixen. Braixen are magic using Pokemon based on witches. It becomes more apparent in battle, where they brandish a wand.

Rapunzel, my Mawile. Since they both have such unique hair!

Smaug, my draconian Charmeleon. Again, you'll see it more in his next evolution, as well as his mega evolution.

So what do you guys think? I'm thinking I'm going to get rid of Rapunzel and possibly find another Disney-based idea. Also, I'm looking for something to represent Sherlock and Supernatural. Any ideas? Comment below! Thanks to all!

Happy Pi(e) Day!

3.14 is the beginning numbers of pi in mathematics, but to those who show absolutely no enthusiasm for math but who are aware of pi, it's Pie Day!From apple to pumpkin to cherry, there are so many great tasting pie flavors out there, and today is a great day to take over your kitchen and make a sweet concoction of your own. But if you don't feel like making a pie of your own, you can always enlist the help of some great Disney characters to help you make your Pie Day even more magical:

Snow White, along with help from some woodland friends, can really add a personalized design to any pie for a friend.

Fozzie Bear can really take your banana cream pie to the next level by adding a remote control option. Now you can serve pie to you guest without having to leave your seat. But be careful because you never know what could go wrong with flying pie.

Well, from a human's point of view, a pie made by a small ladybug like Francis may not be appetizing, but the ever classic pie in the face is always good for a laugh. (Or maybe a way as a means of defense like Maid Marian does in Robin Hood.)

Finally Rapunzal would really like to help you make pie today because she wants to get out of the tower she has been stuck in for 18 years.

And who wouldn't want Rapunzal's help with making pie? Look at how perfect it is!

Happy baking! (or buying, whatever floats your boat)
